Mühlendamm Lock

The Mühlendamm lock is a dual chamber lock and sits right in the middle of Berlin near the historical Nikolai quarter. It is the most frequently visited connection between Spree and Havel and was overhauled from scratch in 1994 / 1995. The entire lighting system was also renovated. Ship traffic and lock gates are now monitored by video cameras on screen.

Illumination is produced through block form luminaires equipped with sodium low-pressure lamps attached to tilting cantilevered masts.
