Modernising technical street lighting
Münchner Allee, Bad Reichenhall.

The street lighting in the Münchner Allee in Bad Reichenhall has been completely renewed.

2/3 of the old 3 m tall light spots were salvaged through light spot optimisation. The new, 6.5 m tall steel tube masts are spaced at 30 m between light spots rather than, as before, 20 m. This meant that only 38 double-arm masts were required instead of 125.

The type 144 trapezoidal luminaire, with its effective reflector system, is fitted with a 60 W
CosmoPolis halogen metal vapor lamp. Prior to the modernisation, ageing, 80 W high-pressure mercury lamps in free-beam mushroom luminaires were used to light the road.

As a result of the modernisation, the historic spa town is saving over 55% on electricity costs and around 13 tons of CO2 emissions per year. The cost of the investment will pay for itself within a few years thanks to the light spot optimisation and lower consumption.
